Independent Hydraulic Power for the Naarva H60
If a tractor’s hydraulic system is not available, the Naarva H60 can be equipped with its own hydraulic unit. The power source is a high-performance Honda GX630 engine (20 hp). The gear pump delivers 16.0 cm³, with a maximum flow rate of 48 l/min.
The hydraulic unit includes a manual log splitter valve. The working stroke is activated by pressing the lever, and the return stroke happens automatically when the lever is locked in the bottom position. The valve spool returns to the center position under pressure once the cylinder reaches its end position. When moving in the opposite direction, the lever must be held continuously. Locking is only available for the return stroke — the working stroke cannot be locked.
The hydraulic output is 40–48 l/min at operating speeds of 2500–3000 rpm, which is more than sufficient for the Naarva H60 splitter. The fastest working stroke with 9 tonnes of force takes just 11 seconds, and even with 22 tonnes, the full stroke takes only 18 seconds. The maximum force of 37 tonnes is automatically applied momentarily if the cylinder’s own force is not sufficient.
